Geometric Bellbird
This illustration is part of a set of 3 in a geometric style. The Bellbird, also sometimes referred to as Korimako or Makomako, is a stunning honeyeater that are most widespread in the South Island. They are a stunning and unique shade of olive green that I have tried to capture in my painting. The eyes are another feature that really stood out to me, they are a deep wine-red that is almost unnatural but at the same time very striking. Although the colours in my art are not completely true to the bird I hope that its essence is still present. I used a lot of shapes and patterns to help portray this bird and tried to push the background back by using a thinner and more delicate pen.
